The Opportunity: Expanding Access to Beehives and Local Value Addition

The role bees play in enriching an existing ecosystem by encouraging biodiversity make them indirect contributors to the carbon credit market. By providing the tools – such as high quality beehives – and knowledge through training to help bee farmers meet their potential in honey production. Kenya has the potential to produce over 100,000 Metric Tonnes of honey per year to meet the demand of a constantly growing global market. Despite its potential and global popularity, it represents a widely unexploited market within the Kenyan value chain landscape. Today, the country is only able to produce a little under 20%, due to the lack of resources, tools and support.

Community Empowerment Through Beekeeping

The Beekeeping value chain is made up of small scale farmers, who, unfortunately, experience little for their efforts. Beekeeping not only helps meet the growing demand for honey, but diversifies income opportunities for our farmers. Additionally, bees have been found to be key members in the agricultural sector, influencing crop health and yield, helping provide additional support to our farmers’ agricultural efforts.

Honey is a popular commodity loved for its rich, sweet taste, numerous health benefits and versatility in use. Its demand for good quality honey is high in both local and global markets, both willing to pay for access to this commodity. For countries blessed with a favorable climate and rich agricultural lands such as Kenya, producing high quality honey to meet the demand is an opportunity waiting to be seized.

We create and

add value

Our investment venture will not only contribute to the growth of the beekeeping industry but also have a positive impact on the livelihoods of small-scale producers in Kenya.

By providing a reliable market for their produce, we empower these farmers, enabling them to earn a fair price for their harvest and improve their socio-economic conditions. Through responsible sourcing and direct partnerships, we aim to create sustainable and mutually beneficial relationships with the local farming communities.
